What do you think?
We have a new interactive display in the hall which asks a new question each week. This week, we learnt that nearly 22 million small pieces of furniture, more than 11,000 bicycles and over 28 million toys are binned in the UK every year after they become damaged (information from a study by North London Waste Authority (NWLA)). Have we become a 'throwaway' society?
Children are encouraged to add their own thoughts to the display. Some comments left by pupils were:
We need to change what we are doing as the land is not a bin.
It could affect nature and hurt the animals.
I think we should make a bigger effort to recycle.
That's what we think, but what do you think?!
