Practical Maths

We love getting outside for 'alfresco' learning at TRJS. Year 3 have been learning about capacity this week, estimating and measuring how many millilitres different items can hold. Some of our estimates were accurate, thinking "is the mug bigger or smaller than my 500ml water bottle?" Some items really surprised us, like the 'banana tub' in the picture which had a capacity of 750ml, much bigger than we had estimated.
